zurück aus aus dem Urlaub melde ich mich jetzt aus Düsseldorf mit ein paar Infos und Eindrücken von der Kreta Reise. Da ich seit 17 Jahren immer wieder in das selbe Dorf auf Kreta reise, ist es dort für mich wie eine Art 'Ankommen'. Dieses Mal haben wir uns für eine Rundreise auf eigene Faust entschieden und waren nur die letzten Tage im 'Heimatdorf'.
Der Reiseplan sah so aus, dass wir erst 2 Tage in Kretas Hauptstadt Heraklion verweilen, dann weiter nach Chania reisen, von dort aus die Samaria-Schlucht Herausforderung annehmen und zu guter letzt in den Süden nach Pitsidia fahren.
I just arrived back in Germany from my last trip to Crete , about which I want to tell you and give some impressions. Now I'm in Dusseldorf, where I will continue the university tomorrow.
As I'm traveling to Crete since I am 3 years, for me it means 'coming home'. This time we made a road trip through more parts of the island instead of traveling to the same small village as always.
The plan was to stay 2 days in the capital Iraklio, then move on to Chania, where we went through the Samaria gorge and finally drive 'home' to Pitsidia, which is in the South.

Zurück zum Start: Gerade mal einen Tag vor der Anreise haben wir uns noch ein Apartment auf Air B'n'B gebucht und ich muss sagen, dass es super geklappt hat und wir etwas wunderschönes gefunden haben. Die Besitzerin war super nett und es gab sogar Frühstück, was eigentlich nicht inbegriffen war.
Back to the beginning: Just one day before the departure we booked an apartment in Iraklio on Air B'n'B and I really have to mention that it worked pretty good and the accommodation was amazing plus the really guest friendly woman who even offered us a breakfast, which normally wasn't included.
Außer der Hafen-Sightseeing-Tour stand natürlich Shoppen in der Hauptstadt auf dem Programm. Ich finde ja, dass Heraklion zusammen mit London eine der besten Shopping Städte der Welt ist (& ja, ich habe ein Jahr in Rom gewohnt, aber da kann Italien nicht mithalten.) In Heraklion gibt es nicht nur die großen Ketten, sondern auch viele kleine Boutiquen, in denen man besonders im SALE zu sehr humanen Preisen tolle Einzelstücke finden kann.
Apart from the sightseeing-tour through the port and the old town of course there was included a shopping trip in the time slot. According to me, Iraklio literally belongs to the best shopping cities worldwide (with London). Yes, I lived one year in Rome and I'm saying this, but Italy can't reach this ;-) In Iraklio you can not only find the big chains, but as well small boutiques, in which you can make amazing catches for good prices, especially during the SALE time.
Insgesamt ist Heraklion echt eine sehenswerte Stadt, die viele schöne kleine Gassen und eine hübsche Altstadt hat. Im nächsten Blogpost gibt's dann die Weiterreise nach Chania und Infos über den Marsch durch die Samaria Schlucht.
All in all Iraklio is a really lovely city, that possesses a lot of cute alleys and a beautiful old town. The next blogpost will be about heading to Chania and some details about the walk through the Samaria gorge.
